Garland Prairie Wanderers

Calling themselves the Garland Prairie Wanderers, this eclectic congregation of nature-loving suburbanites claims the old railroads and prairie lands as their spiritual homeland. With walking sticks and artisanal locally-made kombucha, they 'discover' trails that everyone already knows about, all the while waxing poetic about the 'untamed' beauty of modern suburbia. Their annual 'Wander and Wonder' festival is a must-see, if only to appreciate the odd juxtaposition of REI gear and heartfelt monologues about a slab of concrete.
