The Local Lore & Legend Lovers group invites anyone who’s ever heard that Nanaimo is home to not just breathtaking scenery, but also thrilling legends involving mysterious creatures and hidden treasures—or treasure hunters who lost their way, perhaps. We meet to swap tales so tall they might need their own postal code! From Sasquatch sightings to crazy sailor stories, you’ll hear it all here. No ghost story is too unbelievable, and if it can be accompanied by dramatic sound effects and some bold claims, then we’re here for it! Dive into a sea of folklore while munching on fish-and-chips (what else would fit the theme?) and sipping a brew or two. By the end of our meetings, you’ll have a collection of wild tales that even your friends will roll their eyes at, but hey, they’ll miss out on the fun!
