Whilst machine tattoos involve the gun piercing and then tearing through the skin as the artist moves the gun, bamboo tattoos are delicately tapped into the skin by hand using super fine needles. This means there is a significant reduction in pain and bleeding and therefore no scabbing, resulting in a very quick healing process – usually around two days. Furthermore as there is no blood to push the color out of the skin, the ink settles deeply and no color is lost; there is no need for any touch ups at a later date.
